Pilton walking project

Walking has been shown to be one of the safest and easiest ways of looking after your health. The Pilton Walking Project helps people to look after themselves and meet other folk through walking more. The Project offers free, fun and friendly health walks, loans out stepometers and also promotes walking at local events.

The walks are led by fully-trained volunteers, and are for people interested in getting a bit healthier, meeting new folk or just seeing parts of the city that they had forgotten about. The walks are open to anyone, regardless of fitness, age, ability or circumstances, and are designed to especially suit people that don’t necessarily do a lot of physical activity. Walks currently run on Mondays and Fridays. Contact Lianne (details below) for more information about times and locations of walks.

Paths to Health Volunteer Training is available to people wishing to volunteer with the project, or for projects wishing to start up their own walking groups. We can deliver high-quality training to show people how to set up and run safe, enjoyable health walks.

Volunteer Opportunities are available for people wanting to get out, help local people and have fun at the same time! A range of opportunities are available, and full training is provided for walk leaders.

If you think you would like to walk more, but don’t know where to start, Lianne is very happy to meet with you and discuss what would suit you. Likewise, if you run a project and would like to organise something, please get in touch. The Pilton Walking Project is often looking to recruit new volunteers to help as part of our team, so if you are interested in working with people and looking for a fun challenge, please contact Lianne.
