Women Supporting Women family mid-term activities

A wonderful mid-term break last week, full of laughter, fun and getting to know each other. Women Supporting Women put on a programme of activities last week for families. We went to the Edible Garden Project at the Botanics, had a tour and animal cuddling session by volunteers at Gorgie Farm, made pancakes with our wonderful Food Project at PCHP and watched a movie at North Edinburgh Arts. Thanks to everyone for such a lovey week!

Cooking the basics sessions

Come along to our new block of Cooking The Basics sessions, running over 5 weeks from Thursday, February the 23rd to Thursday the 23rd of March.

Women Supporting Women drop-in

We will be cooking up a storm this Friday  3rd February from 10 am at our Women Supporting Women monthly drop-in, making salsa and other delicious dips. Co-Director Job Opportunity

First healthy snacks masterclass

Today 13 local workers and volunteers enjoyed the first healthy snacks training session.

We had lots of interesting discussions about ingredients and challenges in creating healthy snacks for young people.

We've learned to make and plate up lots of colourful, tasty and nutritious snacks. 

The second session will take place on Thursday the 9th of February 11am-1.30pm

Childcare Development Manager

We have received funds from Awards for All Scotland and the Bank of Scotland Foundation to develop a new community creche service.  As a result we are currently recruiting for a Childcare Develoment Manager.  The successful candidate will be dedicated to the provision of affordable, high quality childcare and understand the childcare business.  S/he will be an experienced childcare practitioner with strong business sense.

Turning Politics on its Head

On 23rd November 2016 over 30 residents of north Edinburgh told candidates for the Council elections in May about the issues that are important to them.  You can download a summary of this event on this page.

Local residents, supported by Pilton Community Health Project, are now planning a hustings event in March so the candidates can let us know what their priorities would be if they are elected.
